Fergal Riggs Same Old Games

Fergal Riggs latest release is upbeat and catchy with a great "sing along" chorus.

Same Old Games is the latest from Slane singer songwriter Fergal Riggs following the debut release of Fureys classic The Old Man (released July 2020).

Riggs is no stranger to the studio or stage performing at a number of venues and festivals such as The Salty Dog stage - Electric Picnic. With no gigs lockdown saw Riggs confined to the The Messy Music Room Sessions on youtube.

Going back into the studio once more Riggs new track is a long time in the making. Originally penned in 2014 and put on the shelf, lockdown and a few "Sunday beers" lead to a "mobile phone" demo recording. Riggs was ready to record and with guitarist Geoff Fay Same Old Game was getting the attention it deserved.

The Beat has been listening to this track nonstop since we got a sneak listen when a copy dropped into our inbox.

Same Old Story has a great country sound with a hard edge from Riggs lyrics and vocals. Rock meets country Same Old Story is positive with an upbeat melody.

Riggs sings about getting away from the Rat Race, youth not knowing there a number and wishing to be with friends. Straight to the point and poetic Riggs sings

Sit on a hill watch the sun say goodbye to the day set fire to the sky as it goes on its way
