2025 has undoubtedly been a breakthrough year for Kingfishr. The Limerick trio have gone from strength to strength, building a reputation as one of Ireland's most exciting emerging acts. Blending traditional folk influences with modern production, they have created a sound that feels both timeless and fresh, earning a rapidly growing and fiercely loyal fanbase along the way.
The band have spent much of the year on the road, recently completing a sold-out run of UK shows, including two memorable nights at London's Brixton Academy. With a busy summer festival schedule across Europe and several major outdoor headline performances planned in Ireland, Kingfishr's momentum shows no signs of slowing down.
Now, the trio return with their second single of 2025, The Sun Will Never Settle.
Driven by a warm acoustic guitar, the track is beautifully enhanced by layers of banjo and mandolin, creating a rich and authentic folk sound. The song is about the end of a relationship, and being better off for the experience. Sometimes these things don't work out. That's not ideal, but it also doesn't mean it wasn't worth it either.
