Affection to Rent keep rising with new single

Music Review | 9th Nov, 2025 Affection to Rent

Ever since their breakout debut If We Fail, 5-piece Affection to Rent have been making serious waves in the ever-growing shoegaze scene. That first single didn’t just get people’s attention, it landed national airplay and set the stage for a string of festival appearances at big names like All Together Now and The Great Escape.

Now, the band are back with their follow-up single Cathedral, and it’s every bit as atmospheric as fans could hope for. Expect towering walls of distorted guitars, dreamy modulated lines weaving in and out, and a slow, pounding rhythm that hits you right in the chest. The vocals carry that signature shoegaze melancholy, hazy, emotional, and completely immersive.

After a year of non-stop gigging and building a loyal fanbase across Ireland and the UK, Affection to Rent are ready to take things up a notch. They’ll be stepping into the spotlight for their debut headline show at Whelan’s on Saturday, 15th of November, 2025, with support from Statford Rise.

If Cathedral is anything to go by, this gig is going to be one you don’t want to miss.
