Emma Hynes steps into a new era with her dreamy single

Music Review | 8th Nov, 2025 Emma Hynes Emma Hynes

Emma Hynes is an artist who doesn’t fit neatly into one box, and that’s exactly what makes her music so captivating. Blending alt, new, and indie folk with a touch of pop and rock, Hynes has carved out a sound that feels both fresh and timeless. As she gears up to release her eagerly awaited debut album, she’s giving listeners a taste of what’s to come with her latest single, Hinterland.

The track opens with a haunting mix of guitar and echoing tones, pulling you straight in. Hynes’ vocals glide effortlessly, warm, smooth, and beautifully understated. As Hinterland unfolds, the tempo gently builds; the drums rise up, and before you know it, you’re swept along in its momentum. It all fades out on a simple, hypnotic riff, capped off with a clean-toned solo that lingers just long enough to leave its mark.

Compared to her previous single Sierra, this one feels more vulnerable and introspective. There are hints of Irish and Spanish influences woven through the song’s poetic textures. It’s a track that feels deeply personal, inviting listeners into its soundscape of reflection and longing.

Emma describes her latest offering as evoking my own brand of ethereal longing, and that’s exactly what it does, it’s dreamy, emotional, and quietly powerful. It’s also another confident step forward in what’s shaping up to be an exciting and experimental new chapter for Hynes and her music.

To mark the release, Emma will be performing at the Fuzzed Up & Astromoon Records all-day label showcase at The Racket Space in The Bernard Shaw from 1pm on Saturday, 15th of November.
