Irish folk favourites Beoga are bringing three headline shows to Dublin this December, with a different special guest joining them each night. Aldoc, Rua Rí and Maykay are all lined up for what promises to be three brilliant nights of live music, bringing together some of Ireland's most exciting talent.
If you've ever seen Beoga live, you'll know they're not your average traditional Irish band. The five-piece have spent more than 20 years mixing incredible musicianship with modern influences, building a reputation for energetic performances and a sound that's never afraid to try something different.
Formed in the north of Ireland, Beoga have taken their music around the world, earning a Grammy nomination and collaborating with Ed Sheeran on his album ÷
. They also joined Sheeran on his record-breaking Irish stadium tour in 2018 and returned to the huge stages of his 2026 Loop Tour.
The band have never been ones to stick to the same formula. Their 2020 mini-album Carousel
saw them explore pop and contemporary folk influences, working with artists including Foy Vance, Lissie and Ryan McMullan, while keeping their traditional Irish roots firmly in the mix.
Their latest release, Phases
, sees Beoga reconnecting with their original sound while bringing in everything they've learned along the way. After spending time working on individual projects, the five members are back together with fresh energy and plenty of new ideas.
It's also been an eventful year for the band. In September, Beoga announced their departure from Ed Sheeran's Loop Tour, citing concerns over venues silencing those advocating for a Free Palestine. As founding members of Irish Artists for Palestine, the decision received widespread support from fans and fellow musicians.
With Aldoc, Rua Rí and Maykay joining them across the three Dublin dates, these shows should offer something a little different each night. It's a chance to catch one of Ireland's most inventive traditional bands doing what they do best, alongside some fantastic homegrown talent.
Beoga will also play Belfast's Empire Music Hall on December 2nd, 4th and 6th, giving fans another opportunity to catch them live before the year is out.
