Irish outfit, Brassneck Saints are a high-octane crew rising from the ashes of Irish favourites The Logues
. Hailing from Tyrone and Donegal, this five-piece is already packing decades of road-tested chops, and their live shows have a reputation for turning quiet rooms into full-on parties.
Their first offering to the world is a bold one, a cover of Danny Vera’s Dutch smash Roller Coaster. But don’t expect a straight copy, they’ve taken the song and drenched it in their trademark mix of Irish folk, Americana, and gritty roots rock. The result is a version that’s rich with fiddles, driving rhythm, and a whole lot of heart, all while keeping the spirit of Vera’s original intact.
Frontman Kiel Cathers says the track’s story started on tour in the Netherlands:
A friend played it for us in the car, and we couldn’t get it out of our heads. By the time we were on the plane home, we were all humming it. We learned it for our next Dutch gig, and people went wild from the first notes. That’s when we thought, why not give it a wider audience?
In their previous form as The Logues, the band carved out a formidable name for themselves with their raucous, rebellious spirit and a catalogue of anthemic originals, tearing it up on major stages across Ireland, the UK, Europe, the UAE, and the USA.
Recorded at Valley Music Studio in Ballybofey with producer Terry McGinty, and paired with a slick video by Michael Gillespie, Roller Coaster
is the perfect calling card for Brassneck Saints Together, a band who clearly plan to keep the good times rolling.
The single, Roller Coaster, is available through all streaming platforms.
