Broncos are back pushing their post-hardcore sound further

Formed as various other projects dissolved, rockers Broncos announced themselves to the world in 2024 with their debut single Erode, followed by Lights Out. Now, almost a year to the day from their debut, they return with their third single, Lover.

Lover hits hard right from the start with snarling vocals and chunky, overdriven guitars ride over pounding drums, before opening up into a melodic chorus laced with tight harmonies. There’s even a sprinkle of synths that give the whole thing extra depth without losing its grit.

Lyrically, Lover is all about that push-and-pull of a complicated relationship, the messy limbo between a situationship and something real, and the instinct to guard yourself even as you want more.

True to their DIY roots, the band tracked Lover in their own rehearsal space with Shane (vocals/bass) behind the desk, before longtime collaborator Dan Coutant (Drug Church, Coliseum) gave it the finishing polish in mastering.

The single drops just ahead of a run of live dates later this year, including a free slot at the Old Crows Promotions stage during Belfast’s Output Festival on September 25th at Ulster Sports Club.
