Martin Moran shreds the rules with his genre-bending style

Music Review | 9th Aug, 2025 Martin Moran Martin Moran

If there’s one thing Martin Moran refuses to do, it’s play by the one-genre rule. With a wide range of influences the singer-songwriter has made it clear, no boxes, no boundaries. Over the years, he’s worn many hats in a number of bands, but as a solo artist, Moran has been especially prolific, cranking out self-produced tracks straight from the comfort of his home studio.

Earlier this year, he dropped a one-two punch of singles, And I Need Ya and Supergirl, released just a week apart. Now, he’s back at it again with his latest release, Now And Then.

From the first second, Now And Then bursts to life with thrashing guitars and a bassline that hits hard. Moran’s snarling vocals cut right through the mix, delivering attitude and grit in equal measure. The chorus is an earworm and just when you think you’ve got the song pegged, it rips into an ear-shattering guitar solo that demands your full attention.

Moran’s making it clear, whether it’s rock, pop, or something in between, he’s here to take you on a musical ride.
