Count Your Days
Five-piece indie outfit ULTRAS have been making serious noise across the Irish scene - and they’re not slowing down anytime soon. Since bursting onto the radar in 2025, the band have dropped a run of punchy singles that’s earned them plenty of love, from glowing press to solid radio play. Now, hot on the heels of their last release Some Flowers, the Dublin crew are back with their latest offering, Count Your Days.
If you’ve caught them live, you’ll know ULTRAS don’t mess around. Whether it’s a sweaty backroom gig or a bigger venue crowd, they bring the same level of urgency and swagger. Their sound taps straight into that early-2000s indie pulse - sharp, energetic, and unmistakably Irish. Lyrically, they’re digging into themes that hit close to home: identity, romance, emigration, faith, and community, all wrapped in a distinctly local voice.
Count Your Days
leans hard into that energy. It’s a fast-moving, no-frills rocker - pounding drums, crunch-heavy guitars, and a vocal that comes in with a proper snarl. There’s a tight sense of movement throughout, with melodic riffs weaving in and out while a bouncing bassline keeps everything charging forward.
Speaking about the track, the band explain:
Count Your Days is about stepping into adulthood without losing yourself. It follows someone on the edge of big moves and big choices, with the world wide open in front of them, while a voice in the background warns them not to sell what matters—their values, their time, their identity. It pushes against pressure and comparison, suggesting there's a right way to live that isn't about rushing or measuring everything.
It’s a song about ambition, legacy, and staying grounded while the world tries to speed you up.
With momentum building and a clear sense of identity, ULTRAS are shaping up to be one of the most exciting indie prospects coming out of Ireland right now. Keep them on your radar.
The single, Count Your Days, is available through all streaming platforms.
