Dublin's Rising Indie Rock Band Keeps the Momentum Going
The Ultras have been on one hell of a run. Since early 2025, the Dublin five-piece have been consistently releasing high-energy indie rock singles that have quickly earned them attention both at home and beyond.
It all started with their debut release, With The Sound,
a statement of intent that introduced the band's infectious blend of driving rhythms, chant-worthy choruses, and guitar-heavy energy. Follow-up singles including Who Did It,
The Dream,
Some Flowers,
and Count Your Days only strengthened their reputation as one of Dublin's most exciting emerging bands.
Of course, great records start with great songs, and The Ultras have spent the last year proving their material works where it matters most - on stage.
The band have become a familiar name across Dublin's vibrant live music scene, building a loyal following through energetic performances at venues including The Workman's Club, The Grand Social, The Bernard Shaw, The Mansion House, Sin É, Sound House, and the Hard Rock Cafe.
With their debut album scheduled for release in August, The Ultras show no signs of slowing down. In the meantime, they've delivered another explosive single in the form of Greener.

Captures Community, Identity and Pure Indie Rock Energy
Greener
wastes no time making an impression. The track opens with two contrasting guitar riffs before bursting into life with a tightly locked rhythm section. The bassline drives forward alongside a relentless drum beat, creating the perfect foundation for the song's soaring energy.
As the track builds, it arrives at what is rapidly becoming a trademark Ultras moment: a chant-like, communal chorus that feels rooted in football culture, local identity, and collective experience. It's the kind of chorus designed to be shouted back from the crowd.
The song is packed with layered guitars, each adding its own texture, rhythm, and melody to the mix. There's even room for an impressive lead guitar flourish that adds another burst of excitement without distracting from the song's core momentum.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the track, the band explained:
Inspired by my time spent around Bray Wanderers, it explores their community, their identity and my feeling of being on the outside looking in, with a subtle thread of religious reflection running beneath it.
That sense of belonging, observation, and community runs throughout Greener
, giving the song an emotional depth beneath its high-octane exterior.
The Ultras Are Building Towards a Huge Debut Album
If Greener
is any indication of what's to come, The Ultras' debut album is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated independent releases of the year.
The band will be taking their music on the road with an Ireland and UK record shop tour, including dates in Galway, Cork, Limerick, and London. They'll also make a festival appearance in Glasgow this July before headlining Beardfire Fest in the main room of The Workman's Club on August 15th, just one day after the release of their debut album.
For a band already generating serious momentum, Greener
feels like another important step forward. It's loud, energetic, packed with hooks, and further proof that The Ultras are a band worth keeping a close eye on as they continue their rise through Ireland's indie rock scene.
